AI Platform Launches to Help Entrepreneurs Decide What to Build with Consulting-Style Product Strategies

The Indian startup Rocket is positioning itself to address a key gap in the current AI landscape: helping people determine what to build before they start coding. It has introduced a platform designed to create comprehensive, consulting-style product strategies.

Based in Surat, India, the company recently launched Rocket 1.0, a platform that integrates research, product development, and competitive intelligence into a unified workflow. This system produces detailed strategic documents covering aspects like pricing, unit economics, and go-to-market plans.

As AI coding assistants—from tools like Cursor, Replit, and Lovable to capabilities such as Claude Code and Codex—become widespread, the actual process of writing code has grown much simpler and quicker. “Everyone can generate the code now… it has become a commodity. But what to build is something which everyone is missing,” explained Rocket co-founder and CEO Vishal Virani. He emphasized that “running a business and just building a codebase are two different things.”

The platform’s outputs are structured as formal strategy reports, distinct from the more feature-focused tools or chatbots often associated with rapid prototyping. It’s important to note that some analyses appear to synthesize existing data—such as known pricing models, user behavior patterns, and competitive insights—rather than relying on independently verified information. This means users should still validate the recommendations before making critical business decisions. Virani noted that the platform provides access to human support to assist users when they encounter challenges.

Rocket also includes competitor tracking, monitoring changes to rival websites and traffic trends. For its analyses, the platform leverages over 1,000 data sources, including Meta’s ad libraries, the Similarweb API, and its own web crawlers, according to Virani.

Subscription plans are tiered, starting at $25 per month for application building, rising to $250 for strategy and research features, and reaching $350 for the complete platform with competitive intelligence.

In September, Rocket secured a $15 million seed round from investors Accel, Salesforce Ventures, and Together Fund. Since that funding, the startup reports its user base has expanded from 400,000 to over 1.5 million across 180 countries. It also mentions an annualized average revenue per user around $4,000, though it has not shared specific figures on paying customers.

The company states it operates with gross margins exceeding 50%, with small- and medium-sized businesses comprising 20-30% of its customer base. Rocket employs a team of 57 and is headquartered in Surat, with additional operations in Palo Alto.
