AI Video Startup Hits $1.3 Billion Valuation After Massive $80 Million Funding Boost

AI video generation company Higgsfield has expanded its earlier $50 million Series A funding round, which concluded in September, by securing an additional $80 million in equity investment. This brings the total raised in the Series A to $130 million, with the company now valued at $1.3 billion.

Higgsfield provides a platform designed for consumers, creators, and social media teams to produce and modify AI-generated videos. The startup was established by Alex Mashrabov, who previously served as Head of Generative AI at Snap. Mashrabov joined Snap after it acquired his prior venture, AI Factory, for $166 million in 2020, where he was a co-founder.

Five months after launching its tool, Higgsfield reported having 11 million users, positioning itself as a preferred platform for content creators. Now, nine months in, the user base has grown to over 15 million. The company states it is operating at a $200 million annual revenue run rate, a figure that doubled from a $100 million trajectory in approximately two months.

According to its press release, Higgsfield considers this growth exceptional, surpassing the trajectories of companies such as Lovable, Cursor, OpenAI, Slack, and Zoom. To shift its image from a generator of casual AI content to a professional business tool, Higgsfield now highlights that its product is mainly utilized by professional social media marketers. This shift is described as “a major sign that the platform adoption has evolved beyond casual content creation.”

Nonetheless, the platform continues to facilitate more informal AI-generated content. Last month, it was used to create a video titled “Island Holiday,” which portrayed individuals named in the Epstein files alongside fictional characters on a “vacation” at Epstein’s island. Due to its offensive nature, the viral social media post containing the video will not be linked here.

Conversely, users also share numerous projects focused on fashion and Hollywood-style storytelling. Investors participating in the Series A extension include Accel, AI Capital Partners, Menlo Ventures, and GFT Ventures.
