Apple Accelerates Development of AI Wearables Including Smart Glasses and AI Pin

Toward the end of last month, a report emerged that Apple was working on an AI wearable—a small, pendant-like device similar in size to an AirTag, equipped with cameras and designed to be clipped to clothing. Now, a new update indicates that development on this AI pin, along with two other AI-driven products, is moving faster as Apple aims to keep pace with rival tech companies that are also pushing to launch comparable devices.

Alongside the AI pin, Apple is reportedly accelerating work on its upcoming AI-powered smart glasses, internally referred to by the code name N50. The company faces established competition in this category, particularly from Meta—widely seen as the current leader in smart glasses—and Snap, which intends to release its own “Specs” model later this year.

Apple’s new smart glasses are said to include a high-resolution camera and could enter the market relatively soon. According to the report, Apple is “targeting the start of production as early as December, ahead of a public release in 2027.”

In addition, Apple is also developing AirPods with enhanced AI features. All three of these products—the AI pin, the smart glasses, and the updated AirPods—are designed to connect to the iPhone and will integrate Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant, as a central part of the user experience. Among them, the glasses are described as “more upscale and feature-rich” compared to the AirPods and the AI pendant.
