Originally, the new Siri was projected to debut alongside the iOS 26.4 update in March. However, the rollout is now expected to proceed more gradually, with some features reportedly delayed until the May iOS update or even held back until the release of iOS 27 in September. This schedule adjustment follows technical difficulties encountered during software testing, which necessitated a further postponement.

The planned overhaul aims to transform the veteran digital assistant, making it more comparable to the large language model chatbots that have become prominent across the technology sector. The key difference for users would be convenience; rather than opening a separate app like ChatGPT or Claude on an iPhone or MacBook, they could simply converse with Siri, which will be powered by GoogleGemini.
