Cohere Surpasses $240M Revenue Target With 50% Quarterly Growth in 2025

While leading AI companies such as Google, Anthropic, and OpenAI focus on winning over enterprise clients, the Canadian AI startup Cohere has been steadily achieving significant milestones. In a recent memo to investors, the company revealed it exceeded its 2025 annual recurring revenue target of $200 million, reaching $240 million with consistent quarter-over-quarter growth exceeding 50% throughout the year.

Founded in 2019, Cohere is supported by prominent enterprise technology investors including Nvidia, AMD, and Salesforce. The company's primary technology is its Command family of generative AI models, which are designed to be efficient enough for deployment on limited GPU resources—a compelling feature for businesses aiming to better manage costs and computing resources.

Last summer, Cohere introduced North, a more advanced enterprise platform and AI workspace. This platform enables the creation of secure, customized AI agents and workflows built directly on Cohere's proprietary models.

Cohere's CEO, Aidan Gomez, indicated last October that the startup could pursue an initial public offering "soon." If this timeline points to 2026, Cohere may find itself entering the public markets alongside other major players like OpenAI, Anthropic, and SpaceX/xAI, all of which are reportedly considering their own public debuts.
