Google is set to host its Made by Google 2026 event this Wednesday, where it will introduce the Pixel 11 series, the Pixel Watch 5, and even a new challenger to Apple’s AirTag. The company also took the opportunity to showcase a range of new Gemini-powered features across its product lineup.

Gemini gets more useful on Pixel

A significant portion of the event was dedicated to Gemini and other AI enhancements coming to Pixel devices. One of the standout accessibility updates is the expansion of “Live Transcribe” to include American Sign Language support. By using the Pixel Camera, users can now have sign language translated into text in real time, offering an alternative way to communicate without needing to type.

Google also unveiled “Rambler,” a new voice-input feature aimed at understanding how people naturally speak. Instead of requiring carefully structured sentences, Rambler is built to handle run-on sentences, filler words, and informal speech patterns while still accurately interpreting the user’s intent. Several smaller additions were announced as well. “Circle to Search” is now more accessible directly from the Pixel Camera, letting users identify objects, search for things in the distance, translate text, or ask questions about their surroundings without ever leaving the camera interface.

Pixel 11

The standard Pixel 11 comes with a redesigned camera bar that is noticeably slimmer than the previous generation’s. According to Google, the new camera bar is over 40% thinner and features an all-glass surface that spans the full width of the phone. The base storage has also been bumped up to 256GB, doubling the previous starting capacity. The starting price for the new model is $899, a $100 increase over the Pixel 10. This price rise is tied to the removal of the 128GB option, as well as the ongoing RAM supply shortage. The Pixel 11 will be offered in Frost, Hibiscus, Pistachio, and Obsidian.

Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL

Durability is taking center stage in the Pro lineup this year. Google states that the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL feature improved drop resistance and a new anti-scratch display coating that offers more than twice the scratch resistance of the Pixel 10 Pro models. The Pixel 11 Pro starts at $1,099, up from $999 for the Pixel 10 Pro. Color options include Canyon, Fog, Olive, and Obsidian, with the Obsidian version now sporting an all-matte finish.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold

Google says the new foldable is nearly 10% lighter and almost 1mm thinner than the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. It also comes with slimmer bezels, a 48-megapixel main camera, and 30x Super Zoom. The company is building on the IP68 water and dust resistance that was introduced with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold features a glass-fiber composite back cover designed to resist cracking, while a redesigned hinge provides extra protection for the inner display. Google claims these changes make the model three times more durable than its predecessor. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold will be available in Olive and Obsidian.

Google takes aim at Apple’s AirTag

Google has finally entered the tracking tag space with the Pixel Tag. This compact device is designed to help users keep track of items like keys, wallets, and luggage. It connects to Android’s Find Hub network, allowing users to locate the tag through the Find Hub app, similar to Apple’s Find My. Priced at $29, or $99 for a four-pack, the tag can also be located from a Pixel Watch. Additionally, Pixel Buds users can ask Gemini to find or ring a Pixel Tag, offering a voice-controlled way to track down misplaced items.

Pixel Watch 5

The Pixel Watch 5 comes with several health-focused updates. The Google Health app will now provide monthly summaries of blood pressure trends, helping users spot patterns over time. It will also deliver monthly summaries of insulin resistance trends. The 41mm Pixel Watch 5 starts at $399, while the 45mm version begins at $429. Google is also introducing a Stephen Curry edition for $579, which features an exclusive design tailored for workouts, as shown in the image above.

Meanwhile, the Pixel Buds Pro is getting a new Olive color option.
