Gemini AI Surpasses 750 Million Monthly Users, Revealing Massive Growth

Google's AI assistant Gemini has reached over 750 million monthly active users, as disclosed in the company's Q4 2025 earnings report. This milestone underscores the swift pace of consumer adoption, solidifying Gemini's position as a major force in the artificial intelligence landscape. The growth has been significant, rising from 650 million MAUs reported just the previous quarter.

When compared to other leading AI services, Gemini now leads Meta AI, which reports close to 500 million monthly users. However, it still remains behind its primary competitor, ChatGPT, which held approximately 810 million MAUs by late 2025.

This user announcement follows the debut of Gemini 3, Google's most sophisticated AI model to date. The company states this iteration delivers responses with remarkable depth and subtlety. CEO Sundar Pichai identified the launch of Gemini 3 in AI mode as a key "positive driver" for the company's expansion, stressing that ongoing investment and development are crucial to sustaining this progress.

In a move to attract more users, Google recently introduced a lower-cost subscription tier called Google AI Plus, priced at $7.99 monthly. While this budget-friendly option is anticipated to spur additional growth, it was released too recently to impact the latest quarterly results. "We are focused on a free tier and subscriptions and seeing great growth," remarked Philipp Schindler, Google's Chief Business Officer, during the investor call.

Gemini's impressive growth is part of a broader financial success for its parent company, Alphabet, which exceeded $400 billion in annual revenue for the first time this quarter. Google credits this achievement largely to the rapid expansion of its AI division, which is experiencing surging demand.

Further strengthening its AI infrastructure, Google recently unveiled its newest TPU AI accelerator chip, named Ironwood, designed to compete with industry leader Nvidia. "The launch of Gemini 3 was a major milestone, and we have great momentum," Pichai stated. "Our first party models, like Gemini, now process over 10 billion tokens per minute via direct API use by our customers, and the Gemini App has grown to over 750 million monthly active users. Search saw more usage than ever before, with AI continuing to drive an expansionary moment."
