Google introduced its more budget-friendly Google AI Plus plan on Tuesday, making it accessible in every region where its AI subscriptions are offered. In the United States, the plan is priced at $7.99 monthly. This rollout extends the lower-cost option to 35 additional countries and territories, following its initial debut in Indonesia last September and subsequent expansions across numerous global markets.

The Plus plan provides subscribers with access to Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro within the Gemini app, along with Flow’s AI filmmaking tools, research and writing support in NotebookLM, and other features. It also includes 200GB of storage and allows the plan’s benefits to be shared with as many as five family members. Current Google One Premium 2TB subscribers will automatically receive all Google AI Plus plan benefits within the coming days.

Originally targeted at emerging markets, the Google AI Plus plan serves as an introductory paid tier for users moving beyond free access to Gemini and other AI tools. It is intended for those who may not require or cannot justify the cost of the higher-end Google AI Pro plan, which usually retails for $20 per month.

Although the Plus plan’s monthly fee differs by region, its $8 price in the U.S. could help attract a broader, more casual user base to Google’s AI offerings. In many other markets, the plan costs under $5 monthly—for example, users in India pay ₹399, or about $4.44 USD.

At its launch, Google highlighted that the plan was created to deliver access to Gemini, Veo, and other creative AI tools in emerging economies at a more accessible price. It also positions Google to compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT Go plan, which is similarly priced at $8 per month in the U.S. and often lower in certain emerging markets.

These entry-level plans aim to draw in the vast number of online users who may gradually become consistent AI customers, thereby helping companies increase their overall AI adoption metrics. For a limited time, new subscribers can receive a 50% discount for the first two months as part of a promotional offer.
