U.S. AI Startups Secure $100M+ Mega Rounds in Early 2026 Funding Frenzy

The first weeks of 2026 have already seen nearly 20 U.S.-based AI startups secure massive funding rounds of $100 million or more. This early surge strongly suggests the AI startup market is poised for another year of enormous investments and staggering valuations. Whether this level of success will be sustained throughout the year remains to be seen.
The following is a list of all U.S. AI startups that have raised $100 million or more so far in 2026.
**February**
On February 12, Simile, a company developing AI to replicate human decision-making, announced a $100 million Series A round. The investment was led by Index Ventures, with participation from Hanabi Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, and several angel investors.
Also on February 12, Anthropic revealed a $30 billion Series G funding round, valuing the AI research lab at $380 billion. The round included over 30 investors, such as Founders Fund, Coatue, and Nvidia.
Runway, a media generation platform, raised a $315 million Series E round on February 10, achieving a $5.3 billion valuation. General Atlantic led the funding, with additional investment from Nvidia, Fidelity, and Felicis.
Goodfire, an AI research lab, announced a $150 million Series B round on February 5. B Capital led the investment, which included Juniper Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Menlo Ventures, valuing the company at $1.25 billion.
On the same day, AI research company Fundamental announced a $255 million Series A round, resulting in a $1.4 billion valuation. Investors included Oak HC/FT, Salesforce Ventures, Valor Equity Partners, and QP Ventures.
Voice AI company ElevenLabs raised a $500 million Series D round on February 4. The round was led by Sequoia and valued the company at $11 billion.
**January**
On January 28, compute platform PaleBlueDot AI raised a $150 million Series B round, reaching a $1 billion valuation. The funding was led by B Capital.
Also on January 28, conversational AI platform Decagon announced a $250 million Series D round co-led by Coatue and Index Ventures, valuing the company at $4.5 billion.
AI research lab Flapping Airplanes raised a $180 million seed round on January 28, led by Google Ventures, Sequoia, and Index Ventures. The round gave the company a $1.5 billion valuation.
Baseten, an AI infrastructure startup, raised a $300 million Series E round on January 23, achieving a $5 billion valuation. The round was led by IVP and CapitalG.
AI inference startup Inferact announced a $150 million seed round on January 22, just months after its founding. The investment, co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and Lightspeed Venture Partners, gave the company an $800 million valuation.
Cambridge, Massachusetts-based OpenEvidence raised a $250 million Series D round for its medical AI chatbot on January 21. The funding was co-led by Thrive Global and DST Global, valuing the company at $12 billion.

Elon Musk’s xAI started the year with a major announcement, revealing a $20 billion Series E round on January 6. Participants included Valor Equity Partners, Fidelity, and the Qatar Investment Authority. The company was acquired by Musk’s SpaceX a few weeks later.
