Just over a month after Anthropic and AI infrastructure provider Nscale unveiled a $45 billion compute agreement, the two companies appear poised to repeat the feat. According to Bloomberg, which cited people familiar with the matter, the pair are said to be on the cusp of announcing another $45 billion compute deal. Those sources noted that negotiations remain ongoing and that specifics could still shift.
Should the agreement come together, it would mark the most recent entry in a lengthy series of enormous compute deals Anthropic has secured over the past year. The sheer volume of capital being channeled into AI compute arrangements has unsettled a portion of investors, who fret that companies are committing too much money for too little return. Even so, Anthropic has continued forging ahead with these partnerships, fueled by confidence that the investments will ultimately prove worthwhile.
Both Anthropic and Nscale are presently working toward IPOs. Anthropic is still anticipated to go public this year. Nscale is likewise pursuing a public listing, though Bloomberg reported today that the company is encountering investor resistance regarding its proposed $30 billion valuation.
