Nvidia Partners with Cloverleaf Infrastructure to Accelerate AI Data Center Power Expansion

Nvidia is pulling out all the stops to keep the AI expansion engine running—the same engine that has driven its own remarkable success. On Friday, the company unveiled a new collaboration with Cloverleaf Infrastructure, a firm that specializes in preparing the groundwork for data center projects. Founded in 2024 and backed by $300 million raised that same year, Cloverleaf operates as an intermediary between utilities and data centers, supplying power sources and other essential infrastructure needed for site development.
Although the financial details weren't made public, the Wall Street Journal indicates that Nvidia's investment in Cloverleaf could total several hundred million dollars. Reuters adds that the chipmaker now holds a minority stake in the company. This move is part of Nvidia's broader strategy to channel its substantial profits into sustaining the AI momentum. Increasingly, Nvidia is taking a more hands-on approach by directly financing and building the AI data centers that, in turn, purchase its AI technologies. Earlier this week, the company also revealed plans to invest $1.5 billion in SB Energy, an OpenAI-affiliated data center initiative based in Ohio.
