Picsart Launches AI Agent Marketplace to Revolutionize Content Creation for Creators

Picsart, an AI-driven design platform, is introducing a marketplace for AI agents, enabling creators to "hire" AI assistants for specialized tasks such as resizing and remixing social media content or editing product photos on Shopify. With a global user base exceeding 130 million, heavily weighted toward Gen Z, Picsart functions as a more advanced alternative to Canva for social media managers and content creators. The company achieved unicorn status during the creator economy surge in 2021 and has maintained its relevance by consistently enhancing its AI-powered offerings to meet current market demands. This marketplace launch comes at an opportune moment, as viral initiatives like OpenClaw have spurred industry interest in agentic AI chatbots capable of executing requests like personal assistants.

"Creators have been stuck as the operator of every workflow—the one doing, not deciding," remarked Hovhannes Avoyan, founder and CEO of Picsart, in a statement. "Our Agents change that relationship—you set direction, the agent builds a plan using real data, you approve, it executes." Picsart plans to release new specialized agents weekly, starting with four initial options: Flair, Resize Pro, Remix, and Swap.

Among these, the Flair agent stands out as particularly sophisticated, integrating with Shopify to serve as an assistant for online store owners. It analyzes market trends to provide recommendations for improvements, such as suggesting edits to product photos for a more cohesive look. In a future update, Flair will also conduct A/B tests and identify underperforming products, proactively offering suggestions to boost sales. The Resize Pro agent adjusts images and videos to fit recommended dimensions across various platforms, using AI to generatively extend frames when original media isn't suited to a specific size. This AI aims to ensure resized images appear intentionally composed rather than hastily cropped. The Remix agent allows creators to describe a style—like "vintage film," "watercolor," or "cyberpunk"—and apply it to an existing photo library, while the Swap feature enables bulk background changes for photos.

For agents like Flair, which operate asynchronously to analyze store data, the ability to interact via WhatsApp or Telegram is especially beneficial. Picsart integrates with these apps because their APIs support AI chatbot setups for businesses; as more platforms adopt similar tools, this functionality could expand. "As agents extend to messaging apps creators already use, that conversation happens anywhere—at your desk or from the subway," Avoyan added. However, AI agents can pose risks, as any LLM-based software may hallucinate or take unintended actions. To mitigate this, Picsart lets users set "autonomy levels" for agents like Flair, requiring creator approval before any action is taken. These agents are also expected to be less susceptible to prompt injection attacks than more public-facing ones, assuming Picsart avoids deploying agents that interact directly with customers or the broader internet.

Like many AI tools, Picsart offers a free plan with limited weekly AI credits, but premium subscriptions—starting at around $10 per month with annual billing—provide significantly greater capacity. Access to AI agents will likely require a paid plan.
