Singapore AI Cloud Exec Accused of Illegal Nvidia Chip Sales to China Alleged to Be Chinese Spy, Report Reveals

A senior executive at a Singapore-based AI cloud company accused of illegally selling Nvidia chips to China may also have been a Chinese spy, according to anonymous sources cited in a report. The executive, Alice Huang (also known as Huang Le), worked for Megaspeed and was photographed alongside Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang at various business dinners in the Singapore region, appearing as one of several people in his company.
U.S. intelligence agencies had been surveilling Alice Huang for roughly a year to learn more about her connections to China, the report states. Sources indicated the concern was that Alice Huang had become so close to Jensen Huang that she might have been gathering information about Nvidia's plans and the CEO's efforts to persuade the Trump Administration to permit the company to ship more advanced technology to China.
"Jensen's interactions with Ms. Huang are not unusual or unexpected. Meetings with customers are part of a C.E.O.'s job; Jensen talks with thousands of customer executives every year," a spokesperson said in an emailed statement. The company further stated, "Our regional cloud customers receive ordinary business information—not sensitive NVIDIA trade secrets—and zero information relevant to national security."
In 2025, the report noted that the Commerce Department had investigated Megaspeed over concerns it was helping Chinese companies circumvent AI chip export regulations by reselling restricted chips to them. Alice Huang was said to be a top executive for the firm at that time.
