Flow Engineering, a company specializing in AI-powered tools for hardware design, revealed on Wednesday that it has secured $50 million in Series B funding, bringing its valuation to $750 million. The investment round attracted notable backers, with Antonio Gracias from Valar Equity Partners and Gavin Baker from Atreides Management serving as co-leads. Gracias is well-known for backing Elon Musk's ventures, especially SpaceX, while Baker's hedge fund has invested in Musk's companies as well as other tech firms like AI chip manufacturer Cerebras.
Sequoia Capital, which had previously led Flow's Series A funding in October, returned as a participant in this round. Additionally, Roelof Botha, a former Sequoia partner, contributed as an individual investor and has taken a seat on Flow's board of directors.
Based in San Francisco and founded three years ago, Flow addresses challenges in hardware design by deploying AI agents that can automatically synchronize CAD drawings with product specifications, simulation outputs, and various testing data. The company's client list includes Anduril, Rivian, Joby Aviation, General Motors PPU (a collaboration between General Motors and TWG Motorsports), RV Tech (a joint venture of Rivian and Volkswagen), Stoke Space, and several others.
