Wolters Kluwer Unveils New AI Innovations at Annual CCH Conference

In late October 2024, Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting (TAA) hosted its 20th annual CCH Connections: User Conference in Las Vegas, unveiling an array of cutting-edge AI tools tailored specifically for tax and accounting professionals. The conference, held at the iconic Fontainebleau, gathered more than 1,400 professionals, offering attendees hands-on access to the latest AI-driven technologies and the chance to engage directly with the Wolters Kluwer team.

A highlight of the conference was the second annual Technical Showcase, which presented AI solutions designed to streamline operations and deepen insights for tax, accounting, and audit professionals. By interacting with the Wolters Kluwer team, attendees had the opportunity to provide real-time feedback and gain firsthand knowledge about new AI capabilities that could redefine their workflows.

Fireside Chat: Leadership Insights on AI’s Role in Growth

A focal point of the event was a Fireside Chat led by Wolters Kluwer TAA’s North America executives, including Cathy Rowe, SVP and Segment Leader, and Dean Sonderegger, SVP and General Manager for Canada and Research & Learning. They discussed how advanced technologies like AI are enabling firms to better address client needs and drive growth in a competitive market. Their discussion shed light on the strategic role of AI in building firm intelligence, from regulatory change management to optimizing firm operations.

Advancements to the CCH Axcess Platform

CEO of Wolters Kluwer TAA, Jason Marx, underscored the transformative potential of AI within the profession.

“This moment in time is our collective opportunity to reinvent the profession,” Marx shared. “Wolters Kluwer has a long and successful history of developing human-centered AI solutions that solve our customers’ toughest challenges.”

He further emphasized the continuous enhancements to the CCH Axcess platform, a powerful tool designed to provide firms with critical insights into client needs, regulatory updates, and operational efficiencies.

Expanding Partnerships for Enhanced Compliance Tools

During the conference, Wolters Kluwer also announced an expanded partnership with the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA). This collaboration brings CCH Axcess Beneficial Ownership to California-based professionals, providing a solution to meet the Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting requirements outlined by the Corporate Transparency Act. This tool will assist firms in meeting compliance demands more seamlessly and with greater accuracy.

Looking Ahead: CCH Connections 2025

The annual conference wrapped up with an announcement that the 2025 CCH Connections: User Conference will take place at the scenic San Diego Waterfront Hotel | Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego from October 20 to 23. With the promise of more advancements, next year’s conference is anticipated to further explore how AI can continue to elevate the accounting and tax profession.

By continually integrating AI into their offerings, Wolters Kluwer positions itself as a key player in the evolution of tax and accounting, paving the way for firms to harness technology for smarter, more efficient practices.
