Anthropic is bringing Claude chat and Cowork under a single front-end, a move meant to eliminate the guesswork around which tab suits which task. With this unified interface, chat, Cowork, and Artifacts — Claude's interactive workspace feature — all live inside one window. Claude Design, launched in April for building websites and prototypes, is likewise accessible from anywhere within Claude.

Previously, the company noted, users frequently found it difficult to figure out which tab matched the job at hand. Under the new design, Claude routes requests on its own, so there's no need to jump between tabs or windows. The goal is straightforward: cut through the confusion over picking features and rely on a single front-end that directs work to the right parts of the app. Ideally, OpenAI follows suit with this approach and cleans up ChatGPT's interface across platforms.

Anthropic is introducing purpose-built tools for presentations and documents as well. Users can instruct the AI assistant to create, edit, and present slides, then export the finished presentation as a PDF or PowerPoint file. On the Docs side, users can collaborate with Claude to build out sections, pose questions, and leave comments on completed portions. Generated documents or slides can be shared via a link and edited from a phone. It's also possible to kick off a document on desktop and then track the task's progress through the mobile app.

These capabilities are reaching Claude's Pro and Max plans first, arriving on web, desktop, and mobile over the next few weeks. Free and team tiers are slated to get them at a later point. The announcement follows an upgrade to Cowork's memory layer, which enables Claude to retain user context across conversations.
