Anthropic has been aggressively expanding its cloud partnerships, and its latest reported move involves a massive $10 billion agreement with AI cloud startup Volta. According to Bloomberg, Volta—which was founded earlier this year—will supply cloud compute to the Claude developer over a six-year period.

Volta is teaming up with Bitdeer, a crypto-mining firm, to help build the data center that will deliver the necessary compute capacity. The facility is set to be located in Norway and will provide 133 megawatts of power. It will be powered by Nvidia’s Vera Rubin systems, the chipmaker’s cutting-edge AI chip architecture.

Volta is part of Nvidia’s Cloud Partner program, a network of AI cloud providers that use Nvidia’s GPUs in their data centers. The startup had previously hinted at a deal with an AI lab but hadn’t disclosed which company it was working with. Bloomberg’s report relied on anonymous sources familiar with the agreement.

Over the past several months, Anthropic has been focused on rapidly boosting its compute capacity as it competes fiercely with rivals. The company has also recently announced new compute partnerships with companies like SpaceX and Amazon.
