Crusoe Raises $3 Billion at $30 Billion Valuation to Expand AI Data Centers for Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI

Data center startup Crusoe, whose client roster includes Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI, has secured a fresh $3 billion investment round that values the company at $30 billion, according to a Bloomberg report. The funding round is co-led by Atreides Management and Valor Equity Partners, with additional backing from Mubadala Capital, the asset management arm of Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth fund Mubadala.

Just recently, Crusoe signed a major cloud contract worth $13 billion over five years to provide quantitative trading firm Jane Street with GPUs and AI infrastructure, as detailed by Bloomberg. This latest fundraising effort arrives just 10 months after the company raised $1.38 billion at a $10 billion valuation back in October.

Founded in 2018 as a cryptocurrency mining venture powered by flared natural gas, Crusoe has since transformed into a prominent AI infrastructure and cloud provider. The company is especially recognized for constructing hyperscale data center campuses for major clients such as Oracle and OpenAI. Additionally, last month, Crusoe reportedly held discussions with investment banks like Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley regarding a possible initial public offering in the near future, as noted by Axios.
