With this update, you can ask Gemini Spark to handle tasks directly within Google Photos—such as editing images, organizing albums, building shared albums from your best shots automatically, converting concert flyer photos into calendar events, running multi-step workflows, and much more. The news came Thursday evening via a post on X from Shimrit Ben-Yar, the lead for Google Photos, who noted that these new features will be introduced gradually over the next few weeks. Initially, they’ll be available to eligible Gemini AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the U.S. who use English. Google has not provided any details on whether or when a broader rollout might reach international users.

This latest move highlights Google’s ongoing push to find the right fit for AI in everyday consumer life—in this case, by simplifying tedious chores and helping people manage photo collections that have grown increasingly large over time.
